Ten things I’ve learned about life from watching my son play baseball:
1) You play like you practice
2) Arguing with umpires makes everyone look wrong
3) No one always strikes out or always hits home runs. The key is to keep stepping up to the plate
4) Don’t put too much emphasis on one at bat- no matter how close the game is
5) You get 3 strikes, but it only takes one good pitch to really make things happen
6) Always run to first base, even on a walk, and always run on to the field with your head up- even if you are down by 15
7) Play the game one pitch at a time
8) The best players are good because they have a deep respect for the game
9) No one person can take the blame for the loss or the credit for the win
10) Win or lose, after every game always high-five your opponent and tell them “good game”
